After working as a stage manager and production assistant for several years, Sébastien founded LA LUNA PRODUCTIONS in 1994 and quickly moved into production, driven by a desire to discover new talent. Over the years, he has produced more than 100 films (short films, documentaries and feature films) screened worldwide, winning multiple awards, including an Oscar nomination in 2009 for the short fiction film Manon sur le bitume (directed by Elizabeth Marre and Olivier Pont). Recently, he produced Sanki Yoxsan, directed by a young Azerbaijani filmmaker, which was presented in the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024, Tsutsue (directed by Amartei Armar), a co-production with AKA Entertainment (Ghana), also in the Official Competition at Cannes in 2022, and America (directed by Giacomo Abbruzzese), nominated for a César Award in 2022. In recent years, Sébastien has mainly produced international co-productions (with Tunisia, Lebanon, Italy, El Salvador, Iran, Ghana, Azerbaijan, Senegal, etc.). Most recently, he produced Les enfants rouges (feature film directed by Lotfi Achour in co-production with APA, Versus Productions and Shipsboy) with Anissa Daoud, which will be released in cinemas in 2025 (in France, Tunisia, Belgium, Poland, etc.). The film had its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in 2024 and has been screened at numerous festivals around the world, winning more than a dozen awards, including the Bayard d'Or at the Namur Film Festival and the Yusr Golden Award at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
He is also an associate producer at Nour Films Production, where he co-produced Germinal Roaux's film Cosmos with Patrick Sibourd (co-production Close Up – Switzerland, Cinevenay – Mexico and Nour Films Production – France).
He is currently developing several feature films (by Lotfi Achour, Azer Guliev, Marwan Khneisser, Louis-Jean Gore, Oriane Bonduel, etc.) while continuing to support emerging young talent. Sébastien Hussenot received the Procirep Producer's Award at the Clermont Ferrand Festival in 2018.
