xafya lovecraft is a filmmaker, painter, sound artist, and installation artist based in zürich. she works with repetition, transformation, and observation through video collage, digital media, and painting. her films follow everyday gestures and moments, leaning into the quiet force of accumulation and return.

in both her digital and painterly work, xafya builds visual systems that reflect inner states, unseen forces, and personal cosmologies. her images often feel like maps, codes, or messages, tools for navigating something beyond the visible. she works with faith as a technology and treats image-making as a site for hyperstition, where fiction folds into reality and belief alters the structure of the world.

her recent wunsch series uses the internet as both method and subject. it draws from online rhythms to form a non-linear coming of age poem, using montage to let fragments speak to each other. the work moves slowly, tracing shifts in feeling, surface, and presence.
