Jack Newton (30th January 1950 - 14th April 2022) was an Australian professional golfer. Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, he was one of Australia's most successful golfers, winning several tournaments nationally and overseas. In 1983, he was seriously injured after walking into an aeroplane propellor, losing his right arm and eye. This ended his professional sporting career, though he remained active in the golfing community as a commentator, reporter and fundraiser. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2007. He died in 2022 from health complications related to Alzheimer's disease.
