Alya Yumrukçal

Alya Yumrukçal is a Turkish film & documentary curator, festival director, and filmmaker based in Amsterdam. She holds an MA in Film Studies from the University of Amsterdam and a BA in Liberal Arts & Sciences from Amsterdam University College. Alya is the co-founder and director of the Amsterdam Student Film Festival, where she combines her passion for film curation and event organization. With hands-on experience in directing, videography, and production, her creative work often explores themes of memory, identity, and human connection. She has also worked with cultural organizations like Droog, Mediamatic, IDFA and Cinema Politica Amsterdam.
