One of the first 100 measures of Salvador Allende's government was the Right to Rest. To carry it out, a network of 'popular seaside resorts' was built in various parts of Chile, mainly on the coast, to provide vacations for working class families. With the civilian, military and business coup d'état, many of these places became centers of detention and torture.
